The MCGSS Travel Grants are awarded to support students who wish to present their research during scientific meetings or conferences. The Presenter’s Travel Grants offered will cover up to 20% of eligible expenses incurred for a maximum of 500$ .

Applicants must be:
- Members of the Macdonald Campus Graduate Students’ Society (MCGSS) at the time of application and be enrolled in a graduate program on the Macdonald Campus of McGill University at the time of the event associated with the present application.
- Students must be presenting at a conference or a workshop to obtain a Presenter’s Travel Grant.
- Grants’ values may vary depending on the costs associated with the conference, the allotted budget, the number of applicants, and diversity and inclusion factors.
- Grants must not exceed fees related to the conference or workshop and may be inferior to these conference or workshop fees.
- Budgets must be balanced and cannot run a profit or a deficit (i.e. expenses and revenue must be equal)
- The MCGSS reserves the right to grant applications based on need and merit, while ensuring non-discriminatory practices.
- Applicants must complete and return the application form, CV, presentation abstract (if applicable), and proof of registration and payment before the application deadline.
- Priority will be given to applicants who have not applied to a MCGSS travel grant in the current year. Priority for Presenter’s Travel Grants will be given to upper-year students.
Eligible expenses in the budget include:
- Transportation costs related to the conference.
- Conference registration fees.
- Accommodation related to the conference within the conference duration.
- Abstract submissions, poster printing..etc .
- Food and non-alcoholic beverages within reason
